Massey Wellington Wellbeing Hub delayed for foreseeable future

The Massey Wellington Wellbeing Hub that was planned to open earlier this year remains delayed for the foreseeable future.

Massey Wellington Student Life Services manager Debbie Snelson, said, “We haven’t set a date for the opening of the Wellbeing Hub as yet as we are still progressing its establishment and will open it when we have everything in place.”

“As one of the key staff involved has gone on parental leave, we will be waiting for her replacement to come on board.”

Interviews have taken place, but it is unknown when a new staff member will move in to fill the role, so no concrete dates have been put forward.

The Wellbeing Hub has taken over the Bennett’s bookshop space opposite the library and is designed to promote and improve student wellbeing.

It is said it will boast sensory features like coloured lighting, calming music and custom furnishings. The hub will also host an ongoing range of workshops on stress management, anxiety, transitioning, meditation and more once opened.
