As second year vet students make their way towards the rear end of the year in Palmerston North, the lunatics are preparing themselves for the annual tradition of the ‘Vet Calendar'.

The Vet Calendar is a fundraising opportunity for a charity of the classes' choice as well as to help raise funds for a weekend of well-deserved fun as the students reach half-way through their 5-year degree next year.

A lucky group of animals will pose in the photos with the students that volunteer to be photographed naked for the calendar.

10% of the money will go towards a charity we are yet to choose. The rest of the funds will support our half-way day trip to Taupo which gives us a chance to bond with one another outside of the program by doing activities such as skydiving, relaxing at the spa, white-water rafting, and such,” vet student and calendar media manager Korynn Lima said.

Booths will be set up around the Manawatū campus to promote sales, as well as being sold at uni events and in the undergraduate office in the vet tower.

A website is underway to enable sales and shipping across New Zealand, Australia, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA, and Canada.

"We are aiming to get it completed, pressed and printed by December to make for holiday gifts as we'll all be breaking into the new year. Keep an eye out."

There are no confirmed sponsors yet, so any interested businesses can get in touch with Korynn at limadvmassey@icloud.com to discuss rates and any queries regarding the calendar.
